DATE OF DEATH: October 27, 1890, Williamson County Texas

 

BURIAL:   Pond Springs Cemetery, Williamson County Texas.  CSA Tombstone and Texas Old Three Hundred      

memorial-historical  marker erected in 2005. I have a recent photo of the grave, CSA tombstone, and historical

MILITARY SERVICE: 

 

ARMY OF REPUBLIC OF TEXAS:

 

Texas Office of Commissioner of Claims # 182 certifies a Land Bounty of 640 acres was issued to John L. Boatright in 1860, for unspecified services in the Army of the Republic of Texas.

 

MEXICAN WAR 1847-1848

 

Texas Military Veteran of Mexican War Muster Rolls evidences PVT. John L. Boatright served in the Texas Mounted Volunteers, Sutton’s Company, Bell’s Regiment.  He enlisted October 20, 1847 and mustered out October 06, 1848.  Mexican War pension # C20329 was paid beginning 10/23/1889.

Stationed at Sabine Pass August 31, 1863, John was there one week before the Battle of Sabine Pass on September 08, 1863.  CSA pension # 2877 approved September 30, 1899 and paid to John’s widow, Rebecca.
