    2, 1926 in Kountze, Hardin County, TX.  
     
  • He was buried in Hooks - Cravey Cemetery, Hardin County, TX.  
     
  • He was educated as he Could read and write.  He was a Sheriff in Kountze,
    Hardin County, TX.
     


    NOTES: Texas CSA pension no. 15675, Hardin County.

    Enlisted in infantry as a private  and traded places with Dallas Collier who
    was in Co. F. under Col. Griffin in the Cavalry service.  Discharged at
    Sabine Pass, Jefferson County, TX in April or May 1865.

    National Park Service Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System shows service
    in Company D, 11th Battalion, Texas Volunteer Cavalry and Infantry
    (Spaight's).  The NPS system shows that he had an alternate name as W.
    M. Collier on some records.


    He was married to Nancy Mary LYONS (daughter of Unknown Given Names
    LYONS and UNKNOWN WIFE) on October 25, 1862 in Hardin County, TX.  
    Nancy Mary LYONS was born about 1841 in Mississippi.  She resided
    between 1870 and 1880 in Hardin County, TX.  She was a keeps house
    between 1870 and 1880 in Hardin County, TX.  She was buried in Hooks -
    Cravey Cemetery, Hardin County, TX.
